WELCOME KIKER COMETS
The Kiker Elementary School Science Fair is back for another exciting year! The 2027 Kiker Elementary School Science Fair & STEM Night celebrates curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking as students explore the world through hands-on discovery. All Kiker students—from Pre-K through 5th grade—are invited to participate, investigate a question that sparks their curiosity, and proudly share what they discover with the Kiker community.
KIKER SCIENCE FAIR FORMAT
The Kiker Elementary School Science Fair follows a format modeled after the Greater Austin Regional Science and Engineering Fair (GARSEF), giving students an opportunity to experience the scientific process from developing a question through presenting and discussing their results.
While projects are evaluated using established criteria, students are evaluated on the quality of their own work—not against one another. The focus is on asking thoughtful questions, following the scientific process, communicating what they learned, and taking pride in their accomplishments.
Most importantly, the Science Fair is about sparking curiosity and encouraging students to explore STEM in ways that genuinely interest and excite them. It’s not about having the “best” project—it’s about wondering, investigating, learning, and discovering the joy of science.
